    Description

Columbia PIctures Original U.S. Insert Poster (14x36) Paper Backed
Columbia PIctures Original U.S. Insert card poster (14x36) for the George Stevens directed dramatic-comedy, THE TALK OF THE TOWN (1942). The films stars Cary Grant, Jean Arthur and Ronald Colman. One of the pre-war comedies for which George Stevens was such an adept director, THE TALK OF THE TOWN is about a schooteacher who is romanced by two men. One is a law professor (Colman) and the other is an escaped convict (Grant). It sounds complicated, but since it is a George Steven's comedy, it is made merry. This was the second film that had paired Cary Grant and Jean Arthur, the first being ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS. This film also featured Dan Seymour, Edward Hearn, Rex Ingram and Frank O'Connor. We have graded the poster in fine plus condition. Prior to conservation the poster had some minor edge wear, some horizontal creases and some tears into the interior. The poster has been beautifully restored and conserved by paper backing. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic U.S. insert poster for this film. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
